Propel Ventures is a fast-growing company that has a great culture and was recently been recognised as a Great Place to Work. We currently have several exciting opportunities for full-stack senior and mid-level developers to work on projects covering banking, accounting, and education.


For the last year our team have successfully been working remotely, so although our office has re-opened, every Propel Ventures team member has the choice to work from the office or from home. The office is a safe and fun place so many of our team members do get out of their PJ’s at least once a week for a change of scenery.


These new working arrangements means we are also opening up our roles beyond Melbourne to anywhere in Australia.


We differentiate ourselves by, and have a track record of, developing winning applications through a Product led and agile approach. Our engineers are fully involved in the design and development decision-making, helping to shape the solution.


What you’ll do


  • Full stack development including frontend web solutions using React.js and major development work in backend services using .Net core, containerised on AWS.

  • Work with the product manager and design team to translate designs and requirements into high quality products/services

  • Showcase a strong sense of code ownership, code quality, and possess the ability to be involved in the entire SDLC

  • Provide triage support for products and services

  • Be willing to cross skill and work on every part of the process/product


What we’re looking for


  • Experience with ReactJS and production level server technologies (.Net core), with a good understanding of RESTful API design

  • Experience with Golang and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) a bonus.

  • DevOps mindset with experience with automated deployments through common CI/CD principles and technologies (BuildKite/Bitrise or similar, Infrastructure as Code, managing staging/production environments)

  • Exposure to AWS or similar cloud products, including experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) a bonus

  • A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to work across the entire stack/lifecycle, while liaising with third party stakeholders

  • Working experience in a collaborative agile environment

  • Excellent communication skills
