Propel Ventures is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Propel Ventures staff will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our office in Richmond.

When our office re-opens, every Propel Ventures team member will have the choice to work from the office or from home and we plan to make the office safe and fun so you will want to get out of the PJ’s at least a few times per week.

We are looking for an experienced delivery leader who will be responsible for software delivery across the portfolio of Propel Ventures initiatives. Your direct reports will be the delivery leaders, each of which is responsible for a subset of the overall portfolio.

This role combines breadth (the full Propel Ventures portfolio), depth (responsible for the commercial aspects of delivery), people (growing leaders and scaling a team), and functional ownership (mature program delivery). If you're passionate about leadership, exhilarated by complex problem solving, and motivated by making a complex environment more predictable, then this is the role for you!

You're highly motivated to deliver business outcomes and have experience being accountable for large decisions. You know how to balance setting context and direction making space for the team's perspective and when to step in and be decisive. You have experience with organizational change. You understand where the business is going and proactively hire for the skills needed to solve tomorrow's problems.

What you are accountable for
  • Identifying, and mitigating risk across the portfolio for the forward rolling six quarters.

  • Maturing our project planning and execution processes to improve scale, velocity, and precision.

  • Establishing and improving the metrics that define the health and efficacy of your organization.

  • Hiring managers and individual contributors with phenomenal technical skills, characteristics, and team fit.

  • Working with our client stakeholders on delivery engagement.

On you first day we'll expect you to have:
  • 10+ years delivering successful software delivery projects affecting large, complex, customer-facing systems, processes, and people.

  • Inspirational leadership behaviour and the ability to teach this to others and coach by example
